Post-doctoral Position in Fluid-Structure Interaction Methods for Cardiovascular Flows
We are looking to fill a post-doctoral position in the area of Fluid-structure Interaction Methods for cardiovascular flows. The successful applicant must have a Ph.D. in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Civil Engineering, Applied Mathematics or equivalent field and have expertise expertise in computational mechanics and Fluid-Structure Interaction Methods, particularly Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian formulations. The successful applicant will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of Biomedical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Statisticians and Radiologists working together on the topic of multi-scale modeling of pulmonary hypertension.
The applicant will be work in the NIH-funded project “Mechanisms Underlying the Progression of Large Artery Stiffness in Hypertension”, under the supervision of Drs. Dr. C. Alberto Figueroa and Jay D. Humphrey from Yale University. The project will involve using and developing formulations for cardiovascular fluid-structure interaction for hypertension research in our open-source software CRIMSON (CardiovasculaR Integrated Modeling and SimulatiON), an advanced package for image-based modeling of cardiovascular flows.The successful applicant will enjoy ample training and networking opportunities. The integration with the Medical School will expose the applicant to high-level translational cardiovascular research in the areas of systemic and pulmonary hypertension.
