CRIMSON (CardiovasculaR Integrated Modelling and SimulatiON) is an image-based cardiovascular simulation environment currently developed under the support of the European Research Council (ERC Starting Grant 307532).

Originally based on the SimVascular software developed at Stanford University by Dr. Charles Taylor, Dr. Alberto Figueroa and others, CRIMSON’s vision is to become the most advanced software environment for blood flow modeling. Its overall philosophy is to combine state-of-the-art open source standards with cutting-edge computational methods.
